Supernatural at Comic-Con 2008

Yay! Reports and videos are starting to come in!

So far, the best video I've seen of the panel is by Gonturan74. She has pretty good sound quality, and with just a few exceptions, she has the camera trained on Jared and Jensen regardless of who is actually talking. They have some priceless reactions.

Spoilerphobes, be warned! There is general discussion of season 4 plot points, as well as casting spoilers.

Jared was unusually quiet and seemed rather tired. Many fans have noticed that he often seems to protect Jensen a little by taking center stage away from his more reserved co-star and I thought it was interesting that in this panel Jensen seemed to step up to fulfill the same role for Jared. If Jared seemed unusually quiet and uncommunicative, Jensen seemed unusually talkative and relaxed. (And ready to throw the fangirls some bones - porn and assless chaps anyone?)

Unfortunately, I felt like a lot of the questions were kind of rehashes of things many fans already know - how the writer's strike affected season three, is Kripke really calling it quits after season five, etc. - but it was still an enjoyable panel, with some great moments, including the surprise appearance by the Ghostfacers and Jensen's instant transformation from Jensen Ackles to Dean Winchester.

Before getting on to the poll, I wanted to let you know about a great idea I learned about yesterday: a campaign to get Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on a celebrity READ poster! In my opinion, one of the many cool things about our show is that, instead of having some geeky sidekick do the research for them, Dean and Sam roll up their sleeves and do it themselves, often with help from the local public library.

Supernatural's season 3 premiere will show on television tonight, October 4th, on the CW at 9 EST, but thanks to iTunes, you can now watch it in advance if you want, totally free! Go to the TV shows tab and you will see a banner ad advertising the episode, which is titled "The Magnificent Seven." Unfortunately, it is currently only available to US residents.

Enjoy! And if you're stronger than I am and able to wait until tonight, you have my deepest respect.

(Some of you may be interested to know that the series premieres of many of the CW's other shows, including Gossip Girl, are also currently available for free download on iTunes.)
